Story

Last Friday evening I was reading the novel “The phantom of the opera” in the living room when I heard a noise upstairs. I thought it could be a burglar, so I called the police immediately and I went out of the house to wait for them. After ten minutes, two police cars arrived.

The sergeant and I went upstairs and discovered the bedroom was totally messy, there were clothes everywhere, some drawers were opened and the lamp was on the floor, but oddly the money had not been stolen. There wasn’t any window broken or forced. We looked into others rooms but there wasn’t anybody, so the sergeant told me that I could tidy the room and that they watched out the area for a few days.

My wife arrived at home at eight o’clock after she finished work in the office and I told her what had happened. She told me that we should call a security company to have an alarm installed.

We started to make dinner and suddenly we heard a strange noise inside the pantry, we looked indoors and there was a small monkey eating cookies. Then my wife said that she had listened on the radio that a monkey had escaped from the zoo. The monkey was guilty of the disaster in the bedroom.
